Artist Biography
Don Webster is a native Oklahoman
whose interest in wildlife has a great influence on
his work. Although most of his career has been in the
field of music, he feels a relationship between music
and sculpture. He earned his music degrees from Oklahoma
State University and Oklahoma University and studied
sculpture at the University of Tulsa. He was a high
school band director and public school administrator
before becoming a full-time artist. Don has been a guest
artist in the National Academy of Western Art exhibition
at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. He has
done several commissions, including an outdoor piece,
"Freedom", at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New
Mexico. He is a member of the Society of Animal Artists
and the Oklahoma Sculpture Society. Don's work is being
shown in galleries across the United States. His pieces
are in public and private collections in the United
States, Canada, and Europe. Don and his wife Merlene
live in Pryor, Oklahoma.
