Artist Biography


George Goetz took up residence in Ireland along with his wife Martha and son Arthur in 1996. Born in Oklahoma to prominent artists, parents Richard and Edith Goetz, he received formal painting instruction at the Art Students League in New York. After working primarily as a landscape painter in the American Southwest, George returned to New York in the 1980's gaining recognition as an interior muralist. His works for numerous institutions include the Plaza Hotel in New York City, McDonald Corporation and the Dallas Natural History Museum.

George has exhibited his paintings in Ireland and in galleries across the United States as well as being represented in numerous private collections. He is currently producing landscapes and still life painting in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
